Engineering Geodesy is a branch educating specialists for the implementation of technical works in engineering and industrial practice, in the use and maintenance of cartographic works, in the economic adjustment of land areas, in transport and water engineering, in the creation of information systems with geodetic and cartographic elements and in all works related to the land registries of real estate.
A graduate of the branch can find application in government administration for the building and maintenance of geodetic foundations, in land registry and land offices, in mapping of all kinds, and in thecreation of state map work. They can also participate in projection technological and the organizational preparation and realization of structures, especially when creating map materials, marking buildings and their parts in the field, and they can co-operate during the construction, inspection and documentation of the finished work. A graduate of this field can find employment in the exercise of surveying activities according to Act 200/1994 Coll. and Decree of ČÚZK 31/95 Coll., but also in mining organizations within the meaning of the Decree No. 435/1992 as the main mine surveyor.
