Summary
The proposed project is aimed at the compilation of a seismo-geological model of the Moravo-Silesian region based on investigation of the seismic waves generated, on the one hand, by deep mining in the Upper Silesian coal Basin and artificially byexplosi ons in quarries, on the other. The seismic waves will be recorded by the regional seismic station Ostrava-Krásné Pole (OKC) and by stations of the monitoring networks operated in the area of the Ostrava-Karviná Coal Basin and in the vicinity ofFrenštát p . Radhoštim. At least 10 mobile seismic stations will be used as well. The geometry of our measurements is designed as quasi-radial or lengthwise profiles. The project should result in (1) improvement of the travel-time curves of local bodywaves; (2) est imation of the optimum velocity model; (3) determination of the spectral characteristics of the studied seismic waves; (4) investigation of dispersion curves corresponding to surface waves and velocity model inversion for investigating.
