Study programme Environmental Protection within Industry

About study programme

The follow-up Master’s degree programme Environmental Protection in Industry is a modern interdisciplinary programme based on a technical and scientific foundation. The programme is prospectively focused on the industrial environment, in particular, on the environmental impact of mining and industrial technologies.
The curriculum focuses on industrial, mining and post-mining environments, on global issues in the industrialised environment, on the assessment of biological changes in environments affected by mining and industry, on innovative methods and technologies for reducing pollutants in air, soil and water in order to protect these ecosystems, and on the prevention, regeneration and revitalisation of the industrial environment.
The technical character of the degree programme is complemented by the courses that include mathematics and physics and are mainly focused on mathematical and multicriteria analysis of experimental data obtained for the preparation of the final thesis. These subjects are then suitably complemented by compulsory elective courses with a link to the social sciences and subjects taught in English developing students’ further communicative and economic competences.
Due to their interdisciplinary technical education, graduates of the Master’s degree programme have a wide range opportunities of finding employment. This degree programme prepares erudite and creative professionals with the possibility of employment in public administration and industry, as well as in science, research and development.
