Use the GPS coordinates 49°50'14.332 "N, 18°8'42.020 "E to plan your route to us by vehicle, bicycle, or foot.

By bicycle

We advise using the designated cycling path Q starting at the last bus stop outside the student residence. A paved road that is unmarked also leads to us from V Zahradách Street. Also acceptable for pedestrians are both routes.

Your bicycles may be stored on a lot of racks at the Planetarium building.

In front of the Planetarium, on the right, is the NEXTBIKE bike-sharing station.

By car

This is the most practical and well-liked method of accessing the planetarium due to our location. The turnoff from the road linking Ostrava-Poruba and Krsné Pole (Krásnopolská Street) is the only way to get to the planetarium. Parking is accessible along the entrance road and in front of the planetarium.

Parking is only permitted on the Planetarium's property if you are an invited guest or an employee.

BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT

The Poruba bus station (Studentské koleje), where buses 20, 37, 40, and 61 drop off, is where you can find the Planetarium by following the green tourist sign. Utilizing the designated cycling path is a more practical choice (see below).

There is also the bus stop at VŠB-TUO, where trams 7, 8, 9, and 17 as well as buses 20, 47, 75, and 61 stop. From there, go past the Poruba stop and the student dormitory by following the green tourist sign to the area of the planetarium.

Take the 46 bus, which is significantly shorter but less luxurious, from the Krásnopolská bus stop. Follow the blue-and-white tourist sign down the route to Krásné Pole from the bus station. After about 200 meters, the walk makes a small left bend into a forest. It then follows the woodland path, over a footbridge over a creek, and leads to the Planetarium.

Please be aware that you will constantly be traveling through the forest on dirt pathways, therefore sturdy boots and a flashlight are advised for the nighttime.
